Makeup Tricks to Look Younger – Take off a couple of years

It is a reality the years’ pass and, some signs of age begin to appear that cause us some discomfort. But don’t worry, you don’t need to go under the knife to get a couple of years off of yourself. Today I am going to mention some makeup tricks to look younger.

As a woman, I know that many of us are afraid of the years to go by. Our skin loses elasticity, the makeup that we used before looks different, and many other things.

However, the years shouldn’t turn into a headache. I think fine lines and wrinkles are reminders of times we’ve laughed, cried, and gotten angry. And if we think about it, that’s not a bad thing, because basically, they are signs that we have lived a magnificent life.

Yet, a little trick to hide the passing of the years does not hurt anyone. For this reason, today, I am going to mention some tips that will help you look a few years younger.

Rejuvenate your face

The first thing to keep in mind is that over the years, the skin loses moisture and elasticity. For this reason, we must have a good skincare routine.

It is necessary that you clean and moisturizes your face well before applying makeup. Additionally, don’t forget about the primer. This product is useful as it will help you to increase the duration of your makeup. Besides, it helps the skin look smoother, filling pores and expression lines, and evens out the skin tone.

After the primer, we must apply a liquid foundation with a luminous or semi-matte finish. Avoid powdered foundations and those with a completely matte finish, as this type of foundation highlights wrinkles and fine lines and also dries out your skin, leaving it with a puffy texture.

Apply the foundation lightly and evenly. In my case, I prefer to apply it with a sponge because, with a brush, I feel that I use more product. Something that we must consider is having the right foundation tone and finish, depending on our skin type.

Later we must apply concealer. Dark circles are one of the features that most accentuate our age. This does not mean that we should use the entire bottle of concealer. Apply a little where you need it, and blend it very well.

The best option is a liquid concealer. Avoid the sticks since these tend to focus on wrinkles under the eyes.

Cream products are a good option.

As I mentioned before, with age, the skin tends to lose moisture. For this reason, experts recommend that we use cream blushes, contours, and highlighters and avoid powders.

For most people, powders accentuate wrinkles and make their skin very dry. However, in my opinion, cream makeup should always be sealed, so it won’t budge.

Taking this into account, and if you’re like me and you prefer to seal your makeup, I recommend that you use fine translucent powders in a super light layer. For this, you can use a fluffy brush, pick up just a little powder, and apply it all over your face.

So that the powders do not leave you a super dry texture, I recommend that at the end of the makeup, you apply the setting spray. This will help the powder dissolve and combine with the cream products and not dry out your skin.

Light up your look

The eyes are a very essential part of the face and, generally, it is where our age is most noticeable. That means that the way we put on makeup in this area will rejuvenate or age us.

First of all, let’s talk about eyebrows. It is usual that, over the years, we lose hair and color in the eyebrows. To make them look younger, we must fix them well.

For this, I recommend that you fill them in with a pencil or an eyebrow pomade. Avoid very dark colors as these harden the features. If you have very dark hair, I recommend using eyebrow pencils one or two shades lighter than your hair color.

Concerning eye shadow, we must avoid shadows with a lot of glitters. The reason is that the glitter tends to accumulate in the wrinkles of the eyelids and makes them look more pronounced. You should use matte and/or satin eyeshadows, which will make you look much better.

About colors, avoid very dark tones like black. The best option is vanilla, champagne, pink, peach, salmon, beige or gold tones.

If you like eyeliner, you can apply it on the upper eyelid. Avoid using it to the lower eyelid, as this hardens the look, makes the eyes look smaller, tired, and dull.

Do not forget the mascara as it helps you look more awake. You can apply one or two coats on top. At the bottom, we must be careful since if we use a lot, it could seem that we have dark circles, so only apply a light layer of mascara.

Take care of your lips.

The lips are the other part of the face, in addition to the eyes that emphasize our age. The lips overtime lose their thickness and, the appearance of wrinkles around them causes them to lose their natural contour.

To rejuvenate them, we should exfoliate them regularly to remove dead skin. Additionally, we must moisturize the lips, for this Vaseline will be your best ally.

Concerning lipsticks, I recommend those that have a creamy finish. Avoid those with a matte finish since these dry out the lips. Also, the matte ones accentuate the wrinkles or the texture that we have.

As I mentioned before, it is common for the lips to look thinner. However, trying to enlarge them by drawing outside the natural line will make you look older, so avoid doing that.

What is important is that you apply lip liner of the same lip color. In this way, you will prevent the lipstick from running through the fine lines around the lips and will also allow it to last longer.

We look beautiful at any age.

Remember that the essential thing to look younger is skincare. For this reason, do not forget that we must clean it, moisturize it, take care of it from the sun, and prepare it for makeup.

Finally, although it sounds very cliché, I think that age is just a number. It doesn’t matter how old you are what matters is how you feel. I have seen grannies who have the vibrancy of a teenage girl and, they look gorgeous.

So you keep having fun, keep laughing, and keep being yourself. Don’t let how you look or what others think makes you feel bad. We are all beautiful, regardless of our age, weight, or skin color.
